Loretta Armstrong has been painting forever. She has painted in oils from her high school days until today. She
attended school in Ione and lived on the Five Mile Drive on an old dairy. Loretta rode horses and painted from a very young age and still loves both. She has used many different styles and painted various subject matter over the years.
Today she is doing plein Air, portrait, landscape, animals, and a style she has been developing on the past few years that is loose, colorful and fun. The chickens that she has painted have been very popular and she has collectors all over the US and Europe.
The new style which she has named, “Whimsical Toons” is a free and happy style. Twisted and turned lines and lots of color and texture. Just pure fun and her child-like “Inner child” personality shines through in this style. She already has loyal collectors which have purchased many of the originals.
